Dr. Cheryl Schmitt
-Chiropractor, unschooling mom of 4, national speaker, podcaster and in private practice, along with her husband, since 2000-
Dr. Cheryl Schmitt grew up in a small farming community in Manitoba and attended undergraduate University at the University of Manitoba. In 1996 she transferred to Palmer College of Chiropractic to pursue her Chiropractic education. While at Palmer College she earned her Bachelor of Science Degree and her Doctor of Chiropractic Degree. Graduating with honors in 2000.
Upon graduation she moved to Washington state with her fellow chiropractor and husband to open up their chiropractic practice in Mount Vernon, WA. Here she focused her continuing education on chiropractic care for infants, pregnancy, children and family care. She earned her certification in the Webster technique in 2003 and her Fellowship in Family Practice from the International Chiropractic Association. She has since earned her 200 hour Certification in Family Practice from the ICPA. The rigorous, 200 hour curriculum offers techniques and protocols of care for children and pregnant women. The 16 module course covers levels of training and expertise additional to what is offered in chiropractic colleges.
In 2004 Drs. Schmitt welcomed their first born child to their lives and their education in parenting started. Since then they have added 3 more children who now age in range from 2 to 14 years of age. Along with her professional and personal training and experience, Dr. Schmitt became very passionate about the health and welfare of children and the future for these children. Since then she has become a speaker and advocate for healthy family practices from conception through early adulthood, including birth and pregnancy.
Her chiropractic clinic focuses its care on specialized, specific care for the prenatal, birth and childhood years as well as family wellness of people of all ages. She recently launched a podcast to share information and support for families seeking a fearless, empowered, approach to health and life.
A member of the League of Chiropractic Women, the Washington State Chiropractic Association and The International Chiropractic Pediatric Association, she believes in being connected with her community and valuable chiropractic organizations in order to make a difference in the health and future of our families.
